Methyl-propane-diol, also known as MPD, is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH₃OCH₂CH(OH)CH₃. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a faint odor. MPD is miscible with water and soluble in most organic solvents. MPD is produced by the hydrogenation of propionaldehyde. It is used as a building block for the production of polyurethanes, resins, and plasticizers.
